The last year in Music Publishing has seen some terrific highs (e.g. the NMPA / You Tube Settlement) and some disappointing lows (e.g. the DOJ’s ruling on the 100% licensing issue). It’s an industry on the verge of significant change as companies like SESAC and Global Rights Management expand the traditional role of Performing Rights Organizations. The settlements, judicial decisions, litigation, and policy initiatives of the year’s biggest developments will be discussed.
