We have all heard of the term, "the hood,” some of us lived it and some of us have only seen it from afar. Regardless if the hood is in a rural area or the inner-cit, how can we transform these places into thriving communities (without gentrification)?
Time after time we’ve seen the gentrification process displace families, small businesses, and culture that currently reside in the neighborhood. Government officials and community activists have been discussing solutions for years to no avail. Today we bring one of America’s biggest dilemmas to SXSW. Why you ask? This issue needs to be seen from different angles and perspectives so that fresh solution-based ideas can sprout.
