In the era of Trump, who tweeted what often counts as front page news. The news cycle is getting quicker, attention spans are getting shorter. Blame it on social media and the 'net. But the same platforms that have brought us fake news and a flustered news cycle can also be powerful tools for investigative reporting and long-form narrative writing. New York Times national correspondent Dave Philipps will walk through two recent stories that relied heavily on reporting that only social media could achieve.
