With Black Lives Matter becoming a revolution, blackness as protest and statement has trickled its way into pop culture and fashion. This panel is going to talk about how fashion is integrating unapologetic blackness into runway collections and advertising. Because fashion is one of the greatest forms of expression, we'll discuss how trends from the black community are having a major renaissance moment similar to the Black is Beautiful movement of the 1960s. We'll also discuss the intersection between profit and exploitation to see how the industry is focusing on inclusion with influences from modern examples (Beyonce's Superbowl Performance).
