Re-Programming the Genome
This session requires RSVP, and access will only be available to badge types listed under “Primary Access.”
Clinical genome editing is here and poised to revolutionize medicine, but how can you get beyond the hype and participate? This session will be hands-on demonstration of how recent advances in machine intelligence can be used to discover and treat the root genetics causes of disease. Engineers and Data Scientists will learn how to set up a genomic development environment, import biodata from next-generation DNA sequencing machines, design CRISPR genome editing vectors, and use machine intelligence to assess their safety and efficacy. No prior laboratory experience required, but participants should be comfortable using a command line, text editor, and querying APIs and data stores.
Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
