How Immersive Storytelling Explores Social Issues

Mar 13, 2017

3:30pm – 4:30pm CT

Technological innovations have transformed the way we tell stories. The Peabody Awards, recognizing stories that matter for 75 years, recently launched a new prize honoring excellence in digital storytelling, the Peabody-Facebook Futures of Media Award. Dr. Jeffrey Jones, media scholar and Executive Director of the Peabody Awards, leads a discussion on how the digital era has shifted the shape and delivery of stories in new and compelling ways. Two recipients of the award, Raney Aronson-Rath (Frontline's Ebola Outbreak and Inheritance) and Christian Divine (Life is Strange), join Dr. Jones to share their experience on how they leveraged emerging technologies to create immersive storytelling.
