Why Women in Tech Matter

The issue of gender balance in the field of technology is a hot topic and global initiatives are trying to get more women and girls interested in tech. However, data shows that the digital gender gap is in fact is getting worse. ITU, the UN ICT agency, is leading innovative solutions to close the gender gap. This session highlights successful strategies to get more women in tech and why it matters. Key questions: What are the current barriers facing women in the technology industry? What initiatives are being led by companies and international organizations to address gender balance in ICT industry? Why are roles models important to inspire more girls to enter the world of technology?
