Policy Challenges to Sharing Your Home
The sharing economy has created a tremendous opportunities for new business-models. People all over the country (many probably in Austin right now) have a safer and affordable way to rent their homes. Legislation is now popping up at the state level to regulate the homesharing industry in a way that could dramatically change how you share your home—neighborhood notification, insurance requirements, hotel taxes and the like. This discussion will highlight the policy challenges that a homesharing world presents and how should government address these issues.
