Social Enterprise Real Talk from the Field
While conventional entrepreneurs measure performance in profit, social entrepreneurs take into account both the bottom line and a positive return for society. As government investment shrinks and traditional nonprofit models struggle to adapt to the digital age, social entrepreneurs are being called upon to do more with less. Meanwhile emerging tech philanthropists and venture capitalists like YCombinator, Social+Capital Partners, Brigade and SpaceX demonstrate interest in social entrepreneurship by building or supporting projects with a wider mission. This panel will explore the ways in which social enterprises, for profit and nonprofit, will impact the future of American society.
