#typedjs

Date TBA

Libraries and toolkits for making Javascript type safe are on the rise. The motive is to make Javascript strictly typed. But does this really matter? Is not dynamic typing one of the strengths of Javascript and making it strictly typed an antipattern and impediment to Javascript? What will be the future of libraries like Typescript and Facebook's Flow? How is the adoption rate of strict typing in Frameworks and toolkits like AngularJS, ReactJS, and EmberJS? These questions will be answered in this session. The idea of this session is inspired by a white paper - "Type Safety for JavaScript" by Dr.Ben Weber (Department of Computer Science, University of California).

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
