Did you know that 15 percent of the world’s population (approximately one billion people) has some form of disability? Over 110 million people have significant difficulties functioning, and the numbers continue to grow due to the rise of chronic health conditions and the aging population. How can we keep their needs in mind when making decisions about the things we build for the public? The key is to get deeply rooted in accessibility empathy. This session will expose attendees to unique, individual human experiences and challenges, and discuss how we can find new and innovative ways to solve or simplify those challenges with hands-on kits, activities, and empathic design.
