The session would pose the question whether bands and artists who have a history of classic hits need to record new music.
Artists such as Journey, Toto, Whitesnake,YES & Foreigner still record new music..(all of which I oversee as chairman of Frontiers Records N.A.).
However their fans do not seem interested in listening or buying new music and only want to hear 'the hits' from yesteryear.
The issue for these bands however is that promoters want to know whether new music is available so that they can advertize this new product. The dichotomy is that bands are also able to negiotiate higher fees because new music is available and they say they are not just retreading their old hits.
