Executive Director, Austin Music People (AMP)
Nonprofit advocacy and research organization for Austin's music industry
The AMP coalition exists to strengthen the music sector for the ongoing benefit of the regional economy. Together, we are committed to making the economic development of the Austin live music industry a priority for our political, civic, and cultural leaders, and to connecting and empowering Austin’s live music community by providing powerful advocacy tools, participating in policy development, and representing live music interests in public and private forums.
VIGILANT ADVOCACY
Constantly monitoring development initiatives, lawmaking and constituent behaviors for signs of opportunities and challenges facing the local music economy
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
Mobilizing an informed local electorate, helping fans make their support of Austin music known.
INFORMED MEDIATION
Bringing parties together and facilitating discussions with a deep awareness of the issues and the histories involved. The result? Better, lasting solutions.
AMPLIFYING THE ARTISTIC VOICE
Supporting the policies and initiatives that help artists survive, thrive and create.
Additionally, we work with our supporters and volunteers to:
• Drive a sustainable, growing, and leading live music economy in Austin
• Nurture collaboration between the local live music community and other community stakeholders
• Research and explore ideas, policies, and issues facing the music industry at large and Austin live music in particular
