Hedging Bets: Safeguarding American Sports Betting
There is growing recognition amongst consumers, sports leagues and sports governing bodies that the regulation of sports wagering in the US nationwide is inevitable. Currently, 80 percent of sport wagering undertaken by US customers is on the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and NCAA. Without the events that these organizations provide, sports betting in the US cannot exist, which gives US sports the potential to have control over wagering that is unrecognizable from other sports overseas. It’s for this reason that the US opportunity is unique and why it is in the sports bodies interest to act now and safeguard their future.
