Stories of Purpose-Driven Companies
As the global economy is upended by technological and social change, organizations of all types are moving away from hierarchical models of command and control to more flexible approaches. A new type of company is emerging—one that measures its success not only by profit, but also by its ability to help employees, customers and communities achieve larger goals. These purpose-driven companies, many of them populated by millennials who are remarkably optimistic about the future, are redefining the nature of work in the information-first economy. Much remains to be done to assure that new ways of thinking about business translates into good jobs, strong communities and a sustainable planet.
