Parenting Digital Natives Meet Up
Saturday, March 12
11:00AM - 12:00PM
110 E 2nd St
As with all growth and advances in civilizations, there are advantages and challenges to raising children in the 21st century that are unprecedented. Our kids and teens are now connected with people they see every day and people they may never see face-to-face. As we pursued the path of casting our thoughts across the globe on a whim, by making our tech faster, smaller, smarter, and tether-free, we were also bringing in a human element walking this path, as well. These “digital natives” are tech savvy and literate for whom the changes in recent technology seem all but imperceptible. For those of us who have both paved the way and observed the changes, while also living with them, the distance between ourselves and these “natives” can at times seem vast.
Let’s come together as a community to celebrate the joys and perils of parenting digital natives who have never known an unconnected world and share our experiences navigating through family, social, and educational activities.
