The Big Short

Monday, March 14
3:30PM - 4:30PM

Austin Convention Center
Room 16AB
531 E 4th St

There was a time when short films were made solely in the hopes of launching careers, a tool for filmmakers to showcase their skills in hopes of bigger opportunities. Today short-form storytelling is a big deal and is being embraced by auteur and amateur filmmakers alike. With outlets such as Field of Vision and The New Yorker Presents (Amazon Prime Video), there are more and more opportunities to showcase these powerful films. Join Charlotte Cook (Co-founder, Field of Vision), Kahane Cooperman (EP/Showrunner, The New Yorker Presents) and filmmakers Garrett Bradley (Below Dreams, Like) and Janicza Bravo (Gregory Go Boom, Woman in Deep) as they discuss the blessings and curses of short-form filmmaking and the ever-expanding landscape for getting these films made and seen.
