Online Harassment: A Geopolitical Perspective
The Internet opens up new channels of engagement and also enables new mechanisms for intimidation and censorship. Individuals and groups may use the Internet not only to spread propaganda but to intimidate and even to shut down the other side. This panel will feature prominent voices from around the world to discuss the many facets of online hate as a silencing technique; address its harms, targets and actors; and consider ways to protect free speech in the face of online intimidation.
