I've been working in the STEM/Maker Education world for a couple years, with experience developing and leading classes at the Tinkering School in Austin and San Francisco. Currently I manage the Maker Space at Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders and design and develop STEAM and Maker focused curriculum with Skillpoint Alliance. In these arenas I enjoy working with both youth and adult audiences, focusing on fun ways to experience learning.
I believe the Maker movement, as it relates to education, has tremendous potential to educate and enrich diverse groups. I enjoy focusing more on free form learning and problem solving over rote execution. I believe the future is in teaching HOW to learn, not WHAT to learn.Hide the rest
