Dae Bogan is a marketing and business professional with over a decade of experience working with musician-entrepreneurs, tech start-ups, SMBs, and enterprises. While he currently practices at the intersection of music, tech, and business, his skill set also draws from experience in the entertainment, CPG, retail, and restaurant industries.
Dae has spent the last several years in the start-up space as a serial entrepreneur, consultant, mentor, writer, speaker, and educator.
As a serial entrepreneur, Dae is the founder of music & artist marketing agency, Maven Promo, and co-founder of TuneRegistry; a next generation music rights and metadata management platform that enables independent artists to take control of the information surrounding their catalog. Prior to founding Maven Promo and TuneRegistry, Dae founded a number of music-related businesses.
As a consultant and mentor, Dae has provided services and guidance to a portfolio of music tech and digital media start-ups including Mydiveo, Hangwith, PlayItNow, Acapella, and TunePort.
As a writer and speaker, Dae covers topics surrounding music, tech, start-ups, digital media, and the DIY indie musician. His work in this capacity can be found on music industry websites and blogs including Hypebot and CD Baby’s DIY Musician Blog. And he has participated at conferences such as the Digital Entertainment World Expo, International Music Festival Conference, SAE Institute Music Tech Expo, and Indie Entertainment Summit.
As an educator, Dae has had the pleasure of guest lecturing on music business at The Los Angeles Recording School and SAE Institute. Previously, Dae was the Adjunct Professor of Entertainment Marketing & Cross-Promotions at Emerson College. In Summer 2016, Dae will be joining the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s Center for Music Innovation as the instructor of a music tech business course during its inaugural Summer Music Innovation Institute.
