Dan Brawley is the Executive Director of the Cucalorus Film Festival, an international celebration of filmmaking in Wilmington, North Carolina. Cucalorus screens more than 250 films with a range of multi-disciplinary programs focusing on things like dance, social justice, cocktails, and performance. Cucalorus has been recognized for three years in a row as one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” by MovieMaker Magazine. Dan is also the founder of a growing arts development district in historic downtown Wilmington that is home to an experimental residency program supported in part by a thriving AirBnB following. When he’s not doing your laundry, Dan performs as Saint 43 from the First National Church of the Exquisite Panic. Dan is the past-Chair of the Board of Alternate ROOTS, an organization serving 14 southern states and supporting artists working for social justice.
