Speaking Socially: Voice Chat in Gaming
For competitive gamers, communication with teammates (and opponents) is key. Voice communication in games has advanced considerably over the past few years, but gamers are still asking the question, why can’t chat with my friends who are playing the same game on another platform? We’re both playing Elder Scrolls Online-why are we blocked from communicating with each other while we play? This is the question Vivox has been working to solve. This session would highlight why voice chat in games, and particularly in MMOs, is not only vital for player communication, but is essential for efficient teamwork and, of course, trash talk. It would also discuss the future of voice chat in video games
