CarShandra Hollins AKA Shay; is a phenomenal woman who LIVES every moment, LAUGHS everyday and LOVES beyond words. She was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX, where she attended New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She is a transfer senior from Tarrant County College and now the first and only recipient of the Tom Joyner Teacher Quality Initiative Program at Huston-Tillotson University (HT). She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Kappa Omicron Tau, and an HT Ram cheerleader from bow to toe. She is also a member of Green is the New Black, SNMA, SHAC, 2015-2016 Miss Junior, and member of Pre-Alumni. Her hobbies include being a woman of God, being family-oriented, studying hard, being a social butterfly, working as an AVID tutor for 6th grade at Martin Middle School, practicing leadership, and just enjoying the kinks to life. She is seeking to complete her Bachelor's in Biology with a certification in education at HT and continue her education to the Ph.D. level. She also has hospital experience as a Baylor Hospital volunteer, working in the labor, delivery, and nursery department where she cared for babies, made care packages and kept the material used filled. Her career goals are to educate our next generation future leaders so she can capture and save a multitude of youth as well as share her experiences with students and provide advisory and scholarship opportunities.

Darrien Jones is a graduate of Robert G. Cole High School in San Antonio, where he was born and raised. He is currently a Freshman at Huston-Tillotson University (HT), majoring in Computer Information Systems. He is on the senate board for the HT’s Student Government Association, in the position of Freshman Class President. He’s part of a beautiful HT organization, Green is the New Black, where he is loyal to the position of Community Outreach Leader. After he graduates he would like to work full time as an Aviation Officer in the US Army as he is already a part time Army Aviation National Guardsmen for the state of Texas.
