Engage, Educate and Act to Reshape Eco-Diversity
STEM fields, green technology, and corporate leadership continue to suffer poor representation from African-Americans, Hispanics, and women. This critical issue needs to be tackled from the ground up. We must engage and educate youth in innovative ways to transform these sectors and build a truly diverse intellectual network for lasting community resilience. Green is the New Black is a sustainability-focused student organization that aims to “foster new shades of green” at historically black Huston-Tillotson University and in the wider community. GITNB members will discuss how student-led engagement, sustainability education, and community connections have impacted their student experience
