Livestreaming Is Bigger Than You Realize

Twitch and YouNow have taken livestreaming to the next level. On their networks, it’s gamified with experience points and monetized with in-app purchases and subscriptions to channels. That money that is shared with the creators. Some creators make $18,000/mo.
Livestreaming is not just another platform, it's a whole new way of interacting with your audience and where all your usual content-creating instincts are wrong.

Currently leading strategy and special projects for Twitch. Angel investor and startup advisor. Previously, I spent 4 years at another top live video start-up, Ustream, where I was responsible for driving the growth and monetization operations. This included oversight of the Adverting Sales & Operations, e-Commerce, Paid Media, and Distribution divisions and all Emerging Revenue lines. I led the scaling of multiple of Ustream’s business units from from ground zero to a multi-million dollar business by identifying and building end-to-end revenue drivers allowing Ustream to secure major market positions in Film, TV, Music, Sports, and other entertainment and online industries. Formally a Strategy Consultant focused on Media, Entertainment and Technology, I have founded or have been recruited early into a handful of other successful startups. I am constantly interested in learning new things - be they new ideas, new problems, new technologies, or new opportunities to work together.Hide the rest

Born and raised in Texas, BruhitsZach found a liking to social media outlets, including Instagram & Twitter. In no time, Zach found a liking to YouTube & Vine. Video entertainment quickly impressed Zach and was becoming a way for Zach to express himself. Then, like an apple falling on his head, YouNow came to his attention (Summer 2014). Originally, Zach used it like everyone else, to interact with friends and to “meet” new ones. Today, Zach has established a platform of his own: BruhitsZach. On YouNow alone his fandom is over 400,000 (August 2015) and growing daily, literally. He regularly trends. In fact, BruhitsZach is in perhaps the top 5 as far as YouNow broadcasting viewing power! His broadcasts include challenges, jokes & pranks. Yet Zach also enjoys sharing a variety of personal experiences on his live YouNow broadcasts: Soccer, friendship relations & fan mail gift opening broadcasts. On several occasions, BruhitsZach will jump on at midnight, and on several occasions close to 5,000 plus fans/viewers watch him. His active followers have become known as ZeBruhNation and, for instance, his followers on Twitter have reached 150K! (August 2015).Hide the rest
