Though online communities have democratized the graphic novel in many ways, they've also been subject to the many of the challenges seen in the gaming space. Melt-thology is a monthly "comic book jam" that gives graphic novelist artists of all genres, styles, backgrounds, and ages a collaborative, inclusive co-working space, culminating in a printed zine anthologizing the group's output. Its founder, Chuck Kerr, will discuss how and why Melthology came to be; share how to replicate comic book jams in your hometown; and explain why collaborative work uniquely changes the course of an artist's work for the better.
