Heather is an Associate in the Austin office of Fish & Richardson. Her practice includes patent prosecution in the area of chemistry and related fields, such as nanotechnology and nanomaterials, polymers, adhesives, inks and pigments, OLEDs, fuel cells and related materials, imprint lithography, and spectroscopy, with a particular focus on clean energy technology.

Matthew K. Wernli is a Principal with the Austin office of Fish & Richardson. His practice emphasizes all aspects of intellectual property including patent prosecution particularly in the areas of mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical devices and software, including oilfield production and drilling equipment, green technology such as carbon dioxide capture and injection systems, hydrocarbon testing technology, nuclear reactor systems, consumer products, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, engines and related control systems, and software. He was previously a Summer Associate with the firm (2005). He was also a judicial intern from January to May of 2006 for the Honorable E. Lee Yeakel, United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. Prior to law school, Mr. Wernli was a Sales Engineer for York International Corp. (1998-2003), and twice was awarded the York International Gold Eagle Award signifying the Top 10 Salesmen in the United States.
