The Brain Electric: Merging Minds and Machines
This session will cover areas of my new book, The Brain Electric, which details the race among top neuroscientists to link the human brain to computers and the digital world that surrounds us. While filled with sci-fi sizzle -- mind-controlled prosthetic limbs, brains linked via computers, and digital memory prostheses -- this branch of neuroscience is also shedding light on our complicated relationship with technology, our role in our own evolution, and, perhaps most significantly, the formation of perception and consciousness itself.
