The DIY Software Revolution
There’s a million apps (and counting), but they’re increasingly specific and inflexible — creating a dichotomy between those who create software, and its everyday users. Many of the greatest computer visionaries foresaw (and still today hope for) a world where everyone can participate in crafting their own software tools and harness their creativity.
In this panel, we’ll cover the history of software tools and the types of creativity they’ve enabled, as well as the current state of the software world. We’ll examine the implications of developer bootcamps and the “coding-for-all” movement, alongside futuristic design concepts in software creation paradigms.
