Live 360° Video and VR: The Immersive Revolution
Monday, March 14
5:00PM - 6:00PM
Austin Convention Center
531 E 4th St
A dream for decades, why is the immersive content revolution starting now? The world’s biggest companies like Samsung see VR as the future, while global brands like MTV are getting on board. Immersive content is now simpler for artists to create & fans to enjoy. Beyond VR headsets, cheap/powerful mobile phones will help adoption go mainstream.
Panelists with expertise in technology, entertainment and Hollywood will debate the obstacles and opportunities in immersive content, citing previous projects including the 2016 NBA All-Star Game, which was presented in live 360°.

He grew up at NBC Sports, starting as an intern and later working a variety of roles from Stage Manager to Associate Director and Production Manager of several Super Bowls, NBA Finals, and sporting events worldwide. He is constantly on a quest to discover and adapt the latest technology enabling new creative heights and higher levels of production. He is also developing strategic alliances with potential broadcast, technology, and digital partners. Jacobs considers Executive Producing “RE-ACT NOW, Music Relief Telethon” for New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina as one of his proudest control room moments, and has been able to grow weekend tentpoles and shoulder programming for events like “The Video Music Awards” from one-night shows into week-long programming events. Jacobs takes pride in the pro-social work he is able to take part in, including MTV ACT and MTV’s “A Thin Line” addressing texting abuse and bullying among teens.
