Connecting Communities at Performing Arts Centers
Community engagement and education are core mission elements of performing arts centers (PACs) and many festivals. At the same time, audiences are demanding more sophisticated programming that includes audience participation. This dynamic creates a challenging environment for performers, programmers and agents. With specific examples, this panel will explore the advantages and risks of community engagement programming, and methods to enhance performances and increase audience attendance.
