Come and hear Andy introduce himself and why he joined Capital One this year. He will then walk you through his thoughts and experiences in building large engineering teams to solve complex problems from a media startup to large corporate organisations.

Andy Reeves (VP, Software Engineering, Technology) joined Capital One in February 2016. He brings a wealth of software engineering experience; most recently from Amazon where he led their video engineering teams across the UK and India.

Prior to Amazon he was the Chief Technology Officer of blinkbox and before that he spent a number of years in the engineering group at Microsoft.

If you’ve Googled him, you might have discovered his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu history. He has 15 Gold medals and 50 other medals from around the world. In 2013 he was British champion, European champion and took Bronze at the World Championships in California which ranked him #1 in the world in his category. Surprisingly, he’s not the only member of our team that trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu either – and in his own words ‘probably the 3rd best’.
