After being expelled from music college, most budding artists would be forgiven for packing it all in and heading for a different career. But with a laser guided focus on positivity and world class songwriting abilities, Folly Rae was determined not to be defined by the usual rules.

The result is one of the UK’s most exciting female prospects since Ellie Goulding, with Folly Rae producing an alchemy of sounds that’s bubbling, ready to step up and captivate audiences worldwide.

Born in Hemel Hampstead but with Norwegian extraction, Folly (real name Rachel Virtue) trained as a classical dancer before deciding it was her love for music that she wanted to pursue. She studied at Guildford based music college ACM, but was thrown out just a year into her course. As Folly cheekily explains “I won’t go into too much detail but let’s just say we all do silly things...looking back, getting chucked out was a blessing in disguise...
