1) La Espera by Juan Pablo Gonzalez (19 min)
Logline: A quietist exploration on the way fear shapes the contour of spaces, The Wait portrays at once the straits of immigrant life and the haunting soundscape of reprieve.

Bio: Named one of the Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film” for 2015, Juan Pablo González is an emerging Mexican filmmaker whose work includes documentary, fiction and experimental films. His work has been shown in film festivals such as Morelia, IDFA, Edinburgh, Cannes, DocsDF, Full Frame, among others. He has been a grantee of the Mexican National Fund for Culture (FONCA) and Arts and the Austin Film Society.

2) Slow Creep by Jim Hickcox (12 min)
Logline: Fifteen-year-old Otter is excited that she's finally found the horror film she's been seeking for weeks. She brings it home to watch with her brother and his friend, not realizing that she's doomed them to an encounter with the Slow Creep.

Bio: Despite having trained as a cinematographer, photographer, and musical composer, Jim Hickcox seems intent on writing and directing films. His work as a director has screened both nationally and internationally, won a few awards, and earned him a reputation as a filmmaker's filmmaker.

3) The Closet by Timeca Seretti (13 min) 
Logline: Haile Stephens has it all, the husband, the house, the car and all that money can buy. Or does she?

Bio: Timeca Seretti is not only a filmmaker but an actress and producer. Timeca formed Wild Child Entertainment, an entertainment company to develop and produce independent films that enlighten, encourage and enrich the lives of women. She has produced and written several shorts films, including a short film entitled “Drama,” on the subject of childhood bullying. It was the 2010 Official Selection of the Austin Film Festival, the Reel Women SXSW Showcase and The Arizona Black Film Showcase. 

4). Carrington Road by Mitchell O'Hearn (18 min) 
Logline: For thirty years, filmmaker Mitchell O'Hearn was spared the drama of his parent's early separation. It wasn't until the death of his mother that his father began to open up and express his hurt from all those years ago. This film excavates the layers of emotional complexity with conversations from the only two people left who can really answer the difficult questions.

Bio: Mitchell O’Hearn is an Australian filmmaker who travels across the world telling visual stories. Originally focused on community theatre, Mitchell later discovered the moving image and that was it. Since then, he has written and directed award-winning short films, commercials and a children's TV show in Mongolia.

5). Sex and the Septuagenarian by Carolyn Banks (8 min) 
Logline: Poor Benjamin. We watch him shrinking as his ex-wife henpecks until...he experiences an intervention by email.

Bio: Carolyn Banks just turned 75, so she knows what a septuagenarian's life is like. She's an experienced fiction writer and essayist, as well as a filmmaker.

6) Empty Road by Andreas Streuli (12 min) 
Logline: A reckless nighttime accident disturbs an adolescent boy in suburban New England.

Bio: Andreas Streuli was born in Boston, moved to the Bay Area, and then studied film at Wesleyan University. "Empty Road" is his 16mm senior thesis film. 

7) Mr. Pastor Jones by Lizette Barrera (12 min) 
Logline: Portrait into the life of a once San Antonio Street Thug and his life as he tries to rebuild it.

Bio: Lizette is a Chicana Filmmaker from Lewisville, Texas who has worked on numerous projects including Blue October’s Music Video, ‘Angels in Everything’. She focuses on three themes throughout her work: the ‘Raw, Authentic, and Beautiful'. Lizette is currently pursuing her MFA in Film Production at The University of Texas.
