#YesWeCode: From The 'Hood To Silicon Valley

Monday, March 16
5:00PM - 6:00PM

Austin Convention Center
Ballroom D
Austin Convention Center

Join Van Jones, co-founder of #YesWeCode, as he speaks with Maxine Williams, Facebook's Global Head of Diversity, for a candid conversation sharing inspiring stories from the front lines of the movement to unleash the genius in untapped places. Let’s talk about the wins, and the challenges, in our movement to diversify tech, as well as what we can do as leaders in the tech industry.

An initiative of Dream Corps Unlimited, #YesWeCode is working with a range of partners to train 100,000 low-opportunity youth to become high-level computer programmers. Surfacing tech talent in African-American, Latino and Native American communities, the movement to diversify tech is well underway -- and surprising even its leading proponents. Together we are working to find under-represented talent from different backgrounds to build products and leaders that impact the world.
