Born in Minsk, Belarus, Darya Zhuk was 16 when she left to study in US. A Harvard graduate, she tried her hand at various film genres until she arrived at directing narrative. She holds an MFA with honors from Columbia University. Her works were selected to the Tarkovsky, Oaxaca, Palm Springs, and Atlanta Film Festival among others.
