Future of Games: Trends and Growth Opportunities
We’re not in pong-land any more. Gaming has grown from the basement, to the living room, and beyond. Where will it go next? Industry experts will talk about the challenges game developers face today, about the merging of gaming into the larger entertainment industry, and where the gaming landscape is heading into tomorrow. Games are everywhere. What started on dedicated devices (think Pong) expanded to PCs, then consoles, and beyond to an expanding range of computers and devices: an open gaming ecosystem. From games played in transit, to games played in stadiums and the explosion of mobile games to eSports; the industry has grown and the way games are played and consumed is changing. As a result of this wild growth, the market for games has become as diverse as their consumers. This panel will discuss the trends, growth opportunities, and growing pains of this ever-exciting interactive medium.
