Resources for startup and growing companies are limited, and often the last thing any young company wants to hassle with is lawyers. However, legal issues can cripple a company in a heartbeat. This session aims to introduce entrepreneurs to the most common legal issues faced by start up companies. We will give primers on several key areas of the law including incorporation, intellectual property, labor & employment, funding, and dispute resolution. We'll also cover classic pitfalls of startups, key areas of business that should not be underestimated, and when to seek outside counsel.
