Student Startup Madness: Finals and Championship
Student Startup Madness (SSM) is a nationwide tournament for college student digital media startups, culminating with the Entrepreneurial Eight national finals at SXSW. Open to student startups from any US college, SSM holds its first two rounds of competition online, supported and promoted by outstanding host universities with excellent on-campus entrepreneurship programs: Arizona State, Bucknell, Cornell, Georgia State, Michigan State, St. Louis U, Seton Hall, UC Davis, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and University of Washington (UW).
This year's SSM national tournament started with a field of 64 teams in November and reduced to 32 teams in the regional semi-final round in January. On January 29, the 2014-15 SSM Entrepreneurial Eight was announced with teams from Bucknell, Cornell, Georgia State, Michigan, Michigan State, Wash U in St. Louis, University of Chicago and UW in Tacoma. On March 16th, a National SSM Champion will be crowned.
