Homeless and Social Media
Over the years social media has boomed and access to programs like Twitter, Facebook and other social media tools have become availiable on even the cheapest devices. With the growth of socal media so has its use among the homeless across the country. Homeless are able to communicate with friends, non-profits, total strangers and even celebrities. Non-profit Facebook campaigns or short Youtube videos are nice but nothing beats actual engagement with homeless. Through Social media homeless are able to have a direct voice with their community where as before homeless had to rely on non-profits to try to tell their story.
