"We were hoping to see a concept that combines the structured feel of Turbotax with the simplicity and cleanness of Google – can you do another round of design with a concept like that?” Teams designing digital products and services have likely experienced feedback and direction along these lines at some point. This workshop will put into practice techniques and strategies for how design leaders can respond to these kinds of requests while:
1. Preserving the integrity of the design process and end product
2. Maintaining the morale and focus of the design team
3. Effectively deconstructing and guiding these forms of feedback back towards “win/win” propositions where both the non-design team members (Products Managers, Executive Stakeholders, etc.) and the design team are satisfied, feel respected and feel heard
Attendees will see a short presentation, followed by breakout groups practicing techniques to improve client communication in various design scenarios.
