Competitive Advantage: Mental Health in Athletics
Sport psychology is a nebulous and broadly defined phrase. Some believe sport psychology to be performance driven. Others note sport psychology is managing the mental health of athletes. We believe that sport psychology is not dichotomous but rather a spectrum that incorporates both performance interventions and mental health treatments. This panel will discuss the fusion between performance and mental health at the collegiate, professional, and Olympic levels. Additionally, the panel will identify best practices and recommendations for developing a healthy culture that fosters success both in and outside the lines of sports.
