Ondi Timoner has the rare distinction of winning the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival twice. Her 2004 doc, DIG!, about the collision of art & commerce through the star-crossed rivalry between the Dandy Warhols and the Brian Jonestown Massacre -- and her 2009 top prize-winner, WE LIVE IN PUBLIC, about Internet visionary Josh Harris, who showed by example how willingly we will trade our privacy in the virtual age-- were both acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York for their permanent collection. Ondi is currently directing and producing the feature documentary BRAND: A SECOND COMING which through the life journey of Russell Brand from drug, sex and fame addictions to social activism, explores the drive we have to make our lives meaningful, the role of the individual in the very pressing need for global shift in consciousness, and the fine line between genius and madness. Her other features include The Nature of the Beast (1994), Join Us (2007), and COOL IT (2010). Ondi is the founder and director of A TOTAL DISRUPTION, a network for innovators, artists and entrepreneurs who document the thought leaders and doers who drive the greatest revolution in the history of humankind with technology. Ondi produces and hosts BYOD (Bring Your Own Doc) for thelip.tv, the only talk show in the world focused solely on documentaries in which Ondi interviews top doc filmmakers about their work. In 2000 Ondi created, produced and directed the original VH-1 series Sound Affects, about music’s impact at critical moments in people’s lives. She is Grammy-nominated and has been a member of the DGA since 2006.
