Why the Future of Film Depends on Social Media
The media and entertainment landscape has changed significantly in the past few years, due in part to the evolving role of social media. These changes have forced entertainment companies to adapt their marketing efforts to stand out in the changing social landscape. However, these changes also provide independent filmmakers the opportunity to market their movies in new and less expensive ways, which allows them to reach additional and larger audiences, as well as compete on a more equal playing field with larger studios and filmmakers. This talk will discuss how indie filmmakers can learn from and incorporate the tactics larger entertainment brands use to stay relevant in today's social media environment.
