Make Yourself the Happiest Person on Earth
Technology is everywhere. It makes things easier, we can’t live without it. But in the pursuit of faster, better and more, when does the involvement of smartphones, tablets, self-trackers, real-time messaging, etc. get to be too much? Early Google engineer and personal growth pioneer Chade-Meng Tan first designed “Search Inside Yourself” as a popular course at Google intended to transform the work and lives the company’s employees. Meng has distilled emotional intelligence into a set of practical and proven tools and skills that anyone can learn and develop. In this talk, Meng will discuss practical methods for enhancing mindfulness and emotional intelligence, personal livelihood and work productivity.
Chade-Meng Tan (Meng) is a New York Times bestseller, one of Google's earliest engineers and personal growth pioneer. Among many other things, he helped build Google's first mobile search service, and headed the team that kept a vigilant eye on Google's search quality. Meng’s job is to teach the best and brightest how to apply mindfulness techniques to their life and work, producing happier, healthier, and more creative employees.
Outside of Google, Meng is the Founder and (Jolly Good) President of the Tan Teo Charitable Foundation, a small foundation dedicated to promoting Peace, Liberty and Enlightenment in the world. He is a Founding Patron of Stanford University's Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE). He is also a Founding Patron of the World Peace Festival, and adviser to a number of technology start-ups.
