SXSW Accelerator: Social Technologies

#sxsw #sxswaccel

SXSW Accelerator pitch event presented by Oracle is a platform to allow early stage technology startups to pitch their product and/or services to industry technology experts, high profiled media personnel, and Venture Capitalists / Angel Investors. Eight companies within the Social Technologies category will dazzle a live audience, panel of three judges and co-emcees with their ideas, innovations, product and/or service on Saturday, March 8. Three of those eight companies will be asked to return on day two, Sunday, March 9, to present to a new group of co-emcees and judges. A grand prize winner for each category will be selected at the end of day two as part of the evening SXSW Accelerator Awards Ceremony.

The Social Technologies category includes technologies that enable personal connections. This category includes new and interesting uses, cases, products and services that push the boundaries of how we find, follow and share our lives with others.

Ansa - www.ansa.com
Orinda, CA
Ansa is the only messaging app that lets you communicate like you do in person, without leaving a record behind.  Have conversations that disappear, send self-destructing messages, or take back the ones you change your mind about later.

Connect - www.connect.com
San Francisco, CA
Connect is a social map of all your friends and a beautiful, always up-to-date address book that allows you to keep in touch with your friends. Connect is available on iPhone.

Felt - www.feltapp.com
Telluride, CO
Hi, we're Felt. We believe in using technology to make us more human, expressive and personal—not less. For starters, we've created an app that lets people write and send a handwritten card in the real mail using just their iPad.

MobiSocial - www.omlet.me
Menlo Park, CA
MobiSocial, a Stanford StartX startup, is the creator of the Omlet Chat application and the Omlet Open Messaging Platform, which enables consumers to “share anything, with anyone, anywhere,” while owning their data.  With Omlet phones are now born social.
