African Entrepreneur - Innovation Amongst Africans
Wherever there are challenges, African creative minds thrive on building inventive alternative solutions. Westerners can learn a lot from their focus on a utility model, where disruptive ideas and applied technology re-imagine basic services. In most parts of Africa reliable energy is not a given so local entrepreneurs drive around on bicycles from village to village while recharging their customer’s phone charger. Fresh thinking entrepreneurs are changing the face of Africa. I was born and educated in Africa and live in London England. Through this lens, I'll share examples of what western start-ups can learn. With an estimated 2,000 different languages spoken in 56 African countries, where the road access rate is below 34 percent; How do you develop your product for multiple environments and people with such differences in cultures, languages and taste?
