Non-Tech Women in Tech Startups: Achieving Success

If you walk into the office of a tech startup, from B2C to B2B businesses, chances are you'll see a room full of men and maybe one or two females. There is a lot of great work being done to promote women in tech, but often these conversations focus on computer science and engineering. While we, of course, want to see more female engineers, this conversation is different. We will focus on the many non-technical roles within tech companies that are still largely populated by men, and how we can change that. Join Adena DeMonte, Director of Marketing and first non-founding employee at Badgeville, the #1 gamification platform, and Casey Taylor, former Director of Digital Analytics, Gamestop, and current founder of a digital analytics firm with numerous F1000 clients, to discuss the many growing non-engineering roles in tech, from digital marketing and customer success to making sense of big data, and how we collectively can inspire more women to take on leadership roles in tech.

Adena is Director of Marketing at Captora, the next evolution of marketing technology for today's data-driven content marketers. She previously lead global corporate marketing for Badgeville, the #1 gamification platform, from pre-launch through the acquisition of hundreds of global customers and partners. She has also held senior social media and community management roles for web startups and global enterprises. Earlier in her career she reported on technology for publications including Red Herring, GigaOm, and Mobile Marketing Watch. She was named a "Woman to Follow" on Twitter by The Silicon Valley Business Journal and "Marketer of the Year Silver" by the American Business Awards.
