Over the last few years, YouTube has seen a radical transformation, becoming a legitimate platform for professional content creators to engage with viewers. A new breed of companies are thriving on YouTube and gathering huge audiences that are bigger even than those on cable TV. These companies are being called the future of entertainment and are poised to be the next generation media titans. But what will it take for these companies to truly crossover and how will they disrupt traditional entertainment models?
In this session, AllThingsD’s Peter Kafka will interview veteran media executive Ynon Kreiz of Maker Studios to discuss the multi-channel model, who is building the next big media companies, and the future of online video.

Peter joined AllThingsD in late October 2008 and is a senior editor. He was most recently the managing editor for Silicon Alley Insider, from mid- 2007 to October 2008. Prior to this, he was the technology and media editor for Forbes.com, creating a new beat focused on the transformation of “old line” media in a digital age. Before joining the site, Peter was at Forbes magazine for eight years where he covered the entertainment industry and helped to build the popular Celebrity 100 list. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and lives in Brooklyn.

Ynon joined the Maker board as Chairman in May 2012 and was appointed Executive Chairman in May 2013. Before joining Maker, Ynon was Chairman and CEO of the Endemol group, the world's largest independent production company.
