Are brilliant ideas enough to fix a broken transport system? As a BBC reporter who writes about advanced transport technologies, Jack Stewart has spent years investigating how we will move around in the future, speaking to some of the biggest players and greatest minds. With the global population exploding, and cities expanding, can we can not continue to rely on the car. So what are the brilliant inventors of the future proposing as alternatives? The rich multi-media presentation will include video of flying cars, floating trains, and robot cars that are being proposed.



Jack Stewart



As transport columnist from BBC.com/Future, Jack writes one of the site’s most popular columns, Hyperdrive. He also presents Science in Action on the BBC World Service. He’s a trained mechanical engineer (with automotive and aeronautic design) before becoming a journalist. He also has plenty of speaking experience – Atlantic Innovation Summit, Aspen Ideas Festival and recording TV spots for PBS. He has worked at the BBC for over a decade and has reported from areas as diverse as war zones and technology shows.
