Digital Painting: We're Living in the Future!
Digital painting is everywhere. Do you finger-paint on your iPad? Are you overly attached to your Wacom tablet? Do you dream in HSB? You might be a digital painter. Early adopters of digital painting have been creatively manipulating pixels since Ivan Sutherland created Sketchpad in 1963. Today—50 years later—digital painting has officially taken hold as a popular, professionally-viable artistic medium. Join digital art fanatic Leah Davis for a brief history of the genre followed by a discussion of current trends and potential advances. We’ll talk about recent jumps in painting software, apps, tablets and 3D printing technology… and what it all means for art as we know it.
